The coronavirus (Covid-19) has been incredibly tough on the world for the past year bringing the industries we love at some points to a standstill. VHR is working incredibly hard throughout the pandemic in order to extend our services to support our clients and candidates. With the vaccine successfully being rolled out we are positive about the build back with lockdowns ending and normality restoring.

With this in mind, we are happy to celebrate VHR’s 18th birthday and proud of the achievements of our hard-working employees, especially in the past year.

VHR Turns 18

When our Founder and CEO Danny Brooks created VHR in 2003, he envisaged a new type of recruitment agency: a company that would closely partner with client businesses, and truly benefits companies, candidates, and communities.

As VHR reaches this significant milestone, we look back on all we have achieved.

VHR has continued to expand our services, provide jobs and ethical services for thousands of clients and candidates across 52 countries.

Success in the Past Year

  • International Expansion – Incorporated in Germany and Cyprus to provide easily accessible communication and expertise for our European clients.
  • Awards – Received a total of 9 Awards and shortlisted for a further 7. These include an MBE for International Trade awarded to our CEO Danny Brooks, an IoD Award & The Best Construction & Engineering. Recruitment Company Award. This brings our award wins up to 46.
  • New Starters - VHR continued to welcome new employee’s including Steve Hubbard, VHR’s General Manager in the Middle East & Alex Fuller our Account Support Manager based in Manchester. VHR is still continuing to hire.
  • Partnerships – VHR has continued our close partnership with the not-for-profit Youth Employment UK and Fair Labour Alliance.
  • Candidate Networks – Grew our LinkedIn community to almost 60,000.
  • New Legislations – Successfully navigated VHR, our clients & candidates through Brexit & IR35 finding compliant solutions.
  • Office Changes – Managed to adapt from working in 8 offices to 80 home offices worldwide in less than a week due to Covid-19 and continued to work remotely throughout the year. A special well done goes to the whole VHR team.
  • Covid-19 Support – VHR focused on being a support to our clients and candidates who have been hit extremely hard by the pandemic. This included offering new services such as social distancing equipment so people could return to work, CV workshops, the creation of our careers hub, and our ELF campaign – pairing up a variety of technical jobs with Engineers stuck in over 56 countries worldwide.

With new challenges sure to come in the year ahead, VHR is looking forward to helping our clients and candidates succeed.
