VHR, the Global Technical Recruitment company, are both proud and privileged to have hosted Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ last Friday, in aid of supporting those in the UK living with cancer.
Macmillan Cancer Trust offers information, practical advice and support, expert opinions and an understanding in medical practice for patients across the UK suffering from cancer. Since 1991, Macmillan's Coffee Morning has raised a total of £75,000,000 for cancer support.
As part of their cancer awareness and fundraising campaigns, Macmillan hosts the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ once a year to encourage people across Britain to pull together, bake, eat a lot of cake and raise money for the foundation.
VHR’s Coffee Morning was held last Friday in both our London and Manchester offices – and what a great turn out it was!
In total, VHR’s employee’s baked over 15 different cakes; some of the best contenders for ‘star baker’ ranged from orange chocolate truffles to lemon drizzle cake, chocolate clusters to rum cookies and apple strudel.
Nevertheless, the overall winner and ‘star baker’ of VHR’s London office was Finance Manager Manju, with her delicious loaf of banana cheesecake bread.
During the day, VHR continued to participate in numerous ‘cake-off’ themed, fundraising games, such as ‘guess the height of the world’s tallest cake’ and ‘cake bingo’.
As a result, at the end of the day the total amount raised for Macmillan Cancer Trust was an amazing £184!
Thank you to everyone involved – we’re very proud to be supporting a fantastic cause.
