It is our privilege to announce that Danny Brooks, Managing Director of VHR the Global Technical Recruitment consultancy is joining former Australian Cricket Captain and sports legend Steve Waugh in The Captain’s Ride, down under in Australia.

The Captain’s Ride is a cycling tour that stretches across different areas of Australia year to year, in support of the Steve Waugh Foundation.

It is the annual, cornerstone fundraising campaign made of a select group of riders, taking on the enormous challenge of a 6-day on-road cycle event and leadership programme.

The aim of the ride is to test each cyclist both physically and mentally, create memories resulting in an experience of a lifetime and raise money for charitable causes.

The Steve Waugh Foundation’s (SWF) mission is to enhance the lives of families and children effected by rare diseases. SWF provides life-changing support and an improvement in quality of life for children and young adults (ages 0-25).
A major motivation behind Steve’s foundation is ensuring that no one feels alone, and that if a child or family need support the foundation provides somewhere to turn to.
All donations will directly contribute to specialised equipment, treatment, research, medical grants and items that will improve the quality of life for both the children and families affected by rare diseases.

A year after his first Captain's Ride, Danny Brooks, VHR’s Managing Director is ready to climb the hills and mountains of Tasmania with a group of familiar faces and cycles.

This year the tour consists of Brownlow medalists, Olympians and Paralympians, F1 champions and Tour De France winners. VHR’s former Speed Meet Greet keynote speaker and Olympic Decathlon champion Daley Thompson, will also take part in The Captain’s Ride.

The event takes place is Australia’s rugged, state island Tasmania. With Hobart the capital in the south of the island, the team will be flying in to the city and beginning their tour from there.

Onwards and upwards, they’re expected to cycle their way into the mountains and wilderness, as well as around the rough coastal borders.

In taking on the Captains Ride as a cyclist, Danny has committed to raising a minimum of $10,000!

Help support Danny in his quest to raise awareness and support the Steve Waugh foundation.

VHR thanks you for all your support in advance and appreciate every donation towards this fantastic cause.
