VHR were proud to sponsor the Superyacht Cup, Europe’s longest-running superyacht regatta, for the second consecutive year. VHR’s team of Marine recruitment specialists attended in person and were lucky enough to climb onboard some of the yachts racing throughout the week:
Both races were thrilling to watch and full of surprises, and the J Class race was particularly close. After an exciting week, J Class yacht Velsheda won three races and took the overall Superyacht Cup trophy.
During the Superyacht Cup VHR were proud to meet with beneficiaries of the Lawhill Maritime Centre. The charity addresses youth unemployment and poverty in South Africa by providing children aged between 10 and 12 years with a specialised maritime education and access to the Marine industry. VHR shared our Superyacht Cup 2018 sailing experience with the group of children lucky enough to visit Europe for the first time and take part in the regatta.
Throughout our week as spectators and sailors, VHR’s Marine recruitment team enjoyed meeting with yacht owners and Marine professionals and discussing topical industry trends, including the challenges of attracting talent from other industries into Marine positions and how to gain enough VISAs for required workers from overseas.
VHR have a long-established presence in the Spanish Marine industry, built through our expansive networks of clients and candidates. In April 2018 VHR opened our fifth office, based in Valencia’s America’s Cup Port, to increase communication and maintain high levels of service to our European clients.
VHR’s Head of Marine Dale Fisher, who has over 20 years’ experience in the Grand Prix race and Superyacht sectors, and Marine Recruitment Specialist Guy Ellis, a former professional sailor, would be happy to discuss your Marine recruitment needs:
