More and more people are looking to commercial airlines as places of employment. Many airlines are long-established companies with fantastic incentive schemes, rewards, and acclaim. A rewarding and exciting venture, Aviation is a great sector to work in, and VHR reveal four of the best airlines to work for this year.

What Are The Best Airlines to Work For?

4. Lufthansa

The Lufthansa Group is a worldwide Aviation operation, flying to 81 different countries across the globe. Last year, the company generated a revenue of 35 billion euros, thanks to its workforce of 128,000 staff. Founded in 1953, the group has surpassed every hurdle and found success in multiple different avenues.

3. British Airways

Next on the list of best airlines to work for is British Airways (BA). BA carries 123,000 passengers every single day. The home of British Airways is Heathrow Airport, the busiest airport in the world, where BA planes fly to more than 200 destinations. A British Airways plane takes off somewhere in the world every 90 seconds, and the airline serves around 25 million cups of tea a year. BA will be 100 years old in 2019, making it one of the oldest commercial airlines in the world. But why should you work at British Airways? Besides the prestige, BA offers a wide variety of destinations for travel, extensive holiday time, and structured routes for progression.

2. Emirates

Emirates is one of the most famous and prestigious brands in the world. So why work at Emirates? The global airline has won over 400 awards for excellence, including Airline of the Year at the 2018 Airline Transport Awards. Over 30 years, Emirates has honed its service and experience to the finest an airline can offer. Emirates matches this ethos with its internal affairs, which might be why 200,000 people applied for one cabin crew position in 2018.

Perks of working for Emirates include a 6-week training programme and free year-round housing at headquarters in Dubai, along with travel all around the world. Amazing employee benefits and a status as the world’s largest international airline, with a network spanning 159 destinations in 85 countries, makes Emirates one of the best airlines to work for.

1. Etihad

Topping the list of some of the best airlines to work for is Etihad Airways. Operating out of Abu Dhabi, Etihad has made massive strides in the fifteen years since its inception. Although smaller than Emirates, Etihad is growing quickly, from 14.8 million passengers in 2015 to 18.6 million this year.

With more than a thousand flights a week with its fleet of 116 aircraft, Etihad flies to the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas. Etihad was named the World’s Leading Airline two years in a row in 2015 and 2016, and are making moves to increase their cargo shipping abilities. A new corporate structure has been implemented to focus on growth, so there’s never been a better time to apply for a job.
