The UAE is one of the best country to work in 2018, and particularly two of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Just 9% of UAE residents are born in the country, providing the Emirates with a rich and diverse culture. Those in search of Abu Dhabi jobs will enjoy many benefits in the UAE, including non-taxable income, high employment standards, opportunities to travel the world and over 2,000 hours of sunshine every year.

  • New Zealand

Last year New Zealand was voted the Best Country to Live In for the fourth year running. The amount of new jobs grew by a record 8.5% in 2017, with global high scores for career progression and job security supported by a rapidly growing economy. A laid-back culture, warm climate and friendly atmosphere also contribute to make New Zealand the number one place to live in the world and one of the best countries to work in 2018.

The Spanish Marine industry is booming, making it ideal for engineers. The country has much to offer, with a progressive healthcare system, an average of six weeks’ paid holiday each year and more public holidays than any other country. For the second year in a row, Switzerland was ranked the best all-round destination for a career abroad. As one of the best countries to work in 2018, Switzerland offers high earning prospects, a good work-life balance and an excellent work culture.

  • UK

Global bank HSBC reveals that, ‘Expats in Britain are among the most likely in the world to pick up new skills compared to their home country (64%) and progress their career (62%).’

UK employment is predicted to rise over the next few years, with another 600,000 people forecast to be in work by 2022. The National Living Wage is also predicted to increase by 4.4% in April 2018 – from £7.50 an hour to £7.83 – meaning those working in the UK will be better off financially. The UK Government are investing over £100 million in UK engineering and technology, offering innovative engineering projects and a larger variety of work for engineers who move to the UK.
